Gwen Barba

Gwen Barba is a Los Angeles-based fine jewelry designer whose work sits at the intersection of sculpture, art history, and wearable luxury. With an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a background in painting and printmaking, Gwen brings a rare artistic sensibility to the world of fine jewelry — one that has been honed over years of making and informed by a lifelong love of art and design.

Her path to jewelry was beautifully unexpected. After working as a display artist at Bergdorf Goodman, where time spent in the fine jewelry department left a lasting impression, Gwen found her calling while creating floral paper sculptures for an event. Obsessed with translating those delicate forms into precious metal, she began studying under a master jeweler — and Gwen Barba Jewelry was born.

A marriage of sculptural, modern forms and feminine touches, each piece aims to be quietly poetic and uplifting — celebrating moments of fleeting beauty found in nature. Gwen is also a self-taught enamelist and CAD designer, and every piece in the collection is made in Los Angeles by Gwen and a small circle of trusted bench jewelers and artisans.

From the pieces themselves to the packaging and photography, every detail is funneled through an artistic vision that is entirely her own.
