Lauren Dickenson Clarke

Lauren was born in a small English town where she rejoiced in drawing from an early age. Even as a child her sketches would reveal an array of imaginative and dreamlike scenarios.

Seduced by the obscure and beautiful, Lauren studied womenswear design where she trained in the discipline of crafting by hand. She was soon recognized for her creative talents and accepted apprenticeships with esteemed fashion houses; Mary Katrantzou and Hussein Chalayan. Before long, a coveted position at Alexander McQueen was offered. Here, Lauren flourished and practiced the art of storytelling through objects & clothing.

Inspired by the desire to immerse art and self-expression into everyday living, Lauren turned her hand to drawing whimsical illustrations which would adorn objects used in the home. Today Lauren delights in producing wares which are more than just functional and even more than just art, pieces which are a talisman to arouse conversation, excite the imagination and transport those that engage with them to realm beyond the norm.

LDC’s Moody Muse Candles have garnered something of a cult following. These small expressive creations are scented celebrations of the Muses, Misfits & rebels. Those who have liberated culture and artistic movements. Moody Muse candles are for the bored of the norm, creative souls who are seeking new ways to express their identities and who are tired of the predictable status-quo.

Each candle is accessorized with its own stylish hat, made from fine bone China & gilded with 22 Carat gold. The candles contain natural waxes only and are free of parabens & other nasties. The fragrances are a work of art in their own right, with each one being crafted to convey the character of the muse behind the candle, whilst setting a particular mood for our vibrant customers.
