Ruchi Kotahwala is the founder and creative director of RUCHI New York, a fine jewelry house known for its bold use of color, painterly gemstone compositions, and modern, eclectic designs. Born in Mumbai and raised in a family deeply connected to the world of gems, Ruchi began designing jewelry at the age of sixteen. She later studied at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, California, where she refined her eye for detail and passion for exceptional craftsmanship.
In 2018, she launched RUCHI New York with her husband, bringing together her artistic vision and his family’s generational expertise in the gemstone trade. From vibrant gemstone palettes to unexpected cuts and fluid gold silhouettes, her work captures a sense of joyful individuality while maintaining timeless elegance.
Dedicated to ethical and responsible luxury, Ruchi ensures her collections are crafted using conflict-free gold and diamonds, while also supporting philanthropic initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, education, and children’s causes.
